Margaret Brady Obituary

Margaret Ann (Maffett) Brady SUN CITY -- Margaret Ann (Maffett) Brady, 78, passed away in the early afternoon of June 1, 2011. Margaret was born in Cambridge, Ohio to John K. and Ada M. Maffett on February 23, 1933 and spent her formative years in Warren, Ohio. After high school, she moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where she worked for a cotton broker and later the Prudential Insurance Co. During this time, she met the man she would marry and on March 2, 1955, she married Russell D. Brady, a career Airman stationed at Luke AFB, and following his movements, lived in Biloxi, Miss.,Tonopah, Nev., San Angelo, Texas, The Greek Island of Crete, San Antonio, Texas, Brindisi, Italy and finally Watertown, N.Y. While in San Angelo, she was involved in Girl Scouts and became the Neighborhood Chairman, as she became on Crete, where she enjoyed considerable travel, much on military aircraft. Margaret was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, Kenneth Maffett; and daughter, Kathleen Brady. Margaret is survived by her husband of 56 years; brothers, Richard Maffett of Fla., John R. Maffett of Sun City Center, Fla., and Harold T. Maffett of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Sally A. Walters of Melbourne, Fla., and Mary E. Brady of Anaheim, Calif.; sons-in-law, Michael Walters of Melbourne, Fla., and Jon Hayakawa of Escondido, Calif.; grandchildren, Anne Walters of Houston, Texas, Brian Walters of North Platt, Neb., Christopher Hahs, Philip Hahs of Anaheim, Calif., Kaeleigh Hayakawa, Hikaru Hayakawa, and Liam Hayakawa of Escondido; and great- granddaughter, Michelle Walters, currently residing in Springfield, Ohio.
