John Steele Obituary

John E. Steele Jr., age 52, of Cardington and formerly of Shelby, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was born March 22, 1971, in Shelby, Ohio.

He graduated from Shelby Senior High and Pioneer Career and Technology Center in 1990. John found his calling working in prisons as a corrections officer and often joked, "I'm not afraid to go back to prison". He was an avid "Jeeper" and driving with the top down was always a welcome adventure. He adored his grandchildren and could always be counted on to pick on them and share a good snack.

John leaves behind his parents, John Sr. and Evelyn Steele; children, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Christopher (Natalie), Cassie, Brittany and Devin; grandchildren, Dakota, Bryce, Phoenix, Ethan, Kallie, Oaklynn, Raelynn, Elleanor and Grayson; three sisters, Rita (Ken) Moore, Rhonda (Duane) Borgelt, Anita (Roy) Stevens. He also leaves behind his fiancée, Sarah Jordan; mother of his children, Beth Morgan; and multiple nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family asks all to join in a celebration of John's life to be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at Potter's House, 374 Willowood Drive East, Ontario, Ohio.
