Chieh Chiang Obituary

Chieh Yin Chiang

The world's greatest dad has joined mom in heaven!

C.Y. passed peacefully away on April 15th, 2014. He was born in Shanghai, China on June 8, 1921, attended St. John's Prep School there, and Purdue University, graduating in 1944 in mechanical engineering.

After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, C.Y. returned to Shanghai where he married Polly Chu in 1947. They relocated to Seattle where their only child, Norm, was born. While C.Y. encouraged Norm to strive for excellence, they found time to go fishing and root for the Huskies!

When he retired from Boeing, Polly and CY became world travelers, played tons of MJ and poker, and CY was his grandkids and great grandkids #1 fan, for Polly had passed in 2003 after 56 years together.

CY will be sorely missed by Peizhen, his 2nd wife, Norm (Sheryl), 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters. A private family service was held.

Remembrances may be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
