Jack W. Peters February 21, 1920 ~ October 20, 2007 Jack W. Peters passed away at his home on Saturday, October 20, 2007. He was born in Coloma, MI, on February 21, 1920. He served as a sergeant in the 3rd Army under General Patton in the European Campaign during WWII. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge where he was wounded, and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war he settled in the San Francisco Bay Area where he married and had three children. He later divorced and went into the meat business in Stockton. He operated a cattle ranch in Nevada and other meat processing related businesses. Later, he sold his business to Safeway Stores and soon became manager in charge of meat processing for that company in the U.S. and Canada. In 1978 he met and married Marjorie Stevenson. Shortly thereafter he retired and they enjoyed several homes in Alamo and Napa, CA, as well as Redmond and Kirkland, WA. Jack and Marjorie were members of the St. Francis and Seattle Yacht Clubs. They traveled on many cruises on their Grand Banks motor yacht, extensively in Northwest and Alaskan Waters. After living in the NW for 12 years, they returned to CA, where they settled in Monterey & Carmel. Jack is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three children, Jim, Jon and Joanna; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 10:30 A.M. at Carmel Mission Basilica, Carmel, CA. You may log onto to www.thepaulmortuary.com to sign the online guest book.
