On November 28, 1936 Judith Ford was born to Robert Freeman Ford and Janet Vosberg Ford in Pasadena, California. Over the course of her life Judy lived in various places including; Pebble Beach, Shawnigan Lake, BC, San Francisco, San Malo, Sausalito, Hawaii and more but Mom was foremost a proud resident of the beautiful Knights Valley of Sonoma County where she lived on her ranch at the time of her death. Judith (Judy) Ford Newman passed away on May 31, 2023. In her final days she was surrounded by her children, grand children and her ex-husband Peter.
Mom's hospitality and her deep love for sharing her ranch have touched so many families and friends over the last 61 years. She had an innate passion for; hospitality, gardening, color (particularly purple), tennis and an affinity for animals (horses, dogs, crows, cats, turtles, parrots, pigs and more). Mom had a charitable nature, giving of her time and donations to many local causes including her time as a hospice volunteer. Among her proudest achievements was earning her pilots certificate in both gliders (at the Calistoga Soaring Center) and airplanes (at Nation Flight Service in Santa Rosa).
Mom is survived by her four children; Kate Newman, Lael Newman-Keane (Douglas), Elizabeth Newman-Densberger (will) and Scott Winthrop Newman (Mary) as well as her grandchildren; Peter and Natalie Nelsen; Tom Bennett; Meagan, Madelyn and Morgan Densberger; Elizabeth, Caroline and Payson Newman; nine great grandchildren and her brother, Freeman A. Ford. She was predeceased by her sister, Jill Ford Harman.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers who assisted Mom in recent years including the team from MaiFiji Caregivers.
