Stanley C. Kennedy Jr.

Stanley C. Kennedy, Jr. Stanley C. Kennedy, Jr. passed away on March 28, 2007 in Longview, Texas, after a long illness. He was born April 10, 1921, in Honolulu, Hawaii the third generation of a kama'aina family. Stanley received his early education in Honolulu and graduated cum laude from the Choate School in 1938. He followed his prep school education by matriculation at Yale and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree and scholastic and leadership honors. Upon his graduation, Stanley was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy and served over three years on active duty in the Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a Lt. Commander in 1945. Stanley returned to Hawaii to work for Hawaiian Airlines, which his father had founded in 1929. In 1971, he joined Continental Airlines and was elected vice-president -Pacific for that company. He retired and moved to California with his wife Nancy in 1985. Stanley was active in numerous civic, religious and social organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Aerospace Museum of Hawaii, Rotary International, Pacific Area Travel Association and the Bishop's committee of the Episcopal Church in CA and HI. He was past president of the Skal Club of Hawaii, director of the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce, director of the Hawaii's Visitors Bureau, an officer of the Visitor Industry Education Council, a director of the Coca-Cola Bottling Companies of Los Angeles and Honolulu, a member of the Red Cross Pacific Advisory Council and a director of Air Micronesia. Stanley is survived by his wife Nancy; sister, Patricia Scott; son, James Cox Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Blair Parry-Okaden of Scone, Australia, Lani Pringle of Hillsborough, CA, Laura Kennedy of Boulder, CO, and seven grandchildren. At his request, there will no Service. Interment will be in Honolulu, Hawaii.
