Taro Fukumori Obituary

FUKUMORI, Taro - Passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005 in Berkeley, at 79 years of age. A native of Sacramento, and 45-year resident Albany. Survived by his daughters, Naomi Fukumori of Walnut Creek, and Noreen Fukumori of Berkeley; son, Wesley Fukumori of Kensington; sisters, Masuye Makishima of El Cerrito, Helen Kurakazu of Walnut Creek, and Sawae Futatsuki of San Francisco; brother, Ray Fukumori of Cypress; and grandsons, Ryan and Derek Fukumori of Kensington. Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Sumiko Fukumori in 1995. Mr. Fukumori grew up in Sacramento, but was interned at Tule Lake during World War II, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He worked as an aircraft engine inspector for United Airlines, San Francisco, retired 1987. Member, Berkeley Buddhist Temple, and Swinging Samurai Golf League of the East Bay. Friends are cordially invited to attend memorial services on Sunday, February 27 at 3:00 PM, at Berkeley Buddhist Temple, 2121 Channing Way, Berkeley.
