Roman Wagner Obituary
Sheboygan - It is with great sadness that the family of Roman F. Wagner announces his passing March 15, 2018, one day shy of his 91st birthday. Roman was a native of Sheboygan Wisconsin and was a Naples snowbird for 41 years. Roman was born March 16, 1927 to Roman and Clara Wagner. A graduate of Holy Name and Sheboygan Central High School, Roman served on the USS Sarsfield in the US Navy. In August of 1949, Roman married Jacqueline Randall of Danville, IL. He was a 1950 graduate of Marquette University. He earned his professional designations of CLU, CPCU, and CHFc, one of very few insurance professionals to earn all three. He obtained his Master's Degree in Finance in 1983.
Roman and Jackie were members of St. Clement Church in Sheboygan for many years, and Roman was a member of the Sheboygan Rotary Club for 60 years. Roman was president of Roman Wagner Insurance Agency, an Independent Insurance Agency in Sheboygan for over 25 years. Roman was an Eagle Scout, a member of Sheboygan Knights of Columbus, a Past President of Sheboygan Jaycees, and served on the Police and Fire Commission for 7 years. He served on the Chamber of Commerce Streets and Highway Committee for 30 years. Roman was a founding member of the Wisconsin Foundation of Insurance Education. He was also a founding partner of the Sheboygan Town and Country Club.
Roman will be greatly missed by his wife of 68 years, Jacqueline and his children, Kenneth Wagner (Laura) of Marlborough MA, Katherine Muhs(Paul) of Green Bay WI and Naples, Julie Reeck(Larry) of Green Bay, WI, Lisa Jones of Hampton, VA, Randall Wagner(Debra) of Mequon WI, Janine Wagner (David) of Milwaukee, WI, Jodi Holman(Alan) of Mequon, WI, his 17 grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren and his sister Mary Cogan.
Roman loved life and loved people. He took great joy in his family. We are very grateful for the many years of life the Lord blessed him with. He will be missed very much.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at St. Williams in Naples, FL and a memorial service in early summer in Sheboygan, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Clement Church, Sheboygan or Habitat for Humanity, Sheboygan.
