Thomas J. Bilbo Jr.

1958 - 2016

Thomas Joel Bilbo, Jr., 58, of Eastham, died at home March 6, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Brookline, in 1958, he was the second son of Thomas J. Bilbo, Sr. and Joanne (Domigan) Bilbo. He graduated from Scituate High School in 1976 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for American Cable Systems and for a family construction business. He loved spending time outdoors whether in a boat on the bay or camping in the woods. He had a lifelong passion for photography, and more recently, flying his drones. He will forever be remembered for his zest for life, spontaneity, and his legendary campfires. He was the former husband of Sallie Kane and loving brother of Karen Baker, Brian Bilbo, Albert Bilbo, Edward Bilbo, Michele Flavia, and Eileen Chiasson. He leaves behind three beloved children: Thomas J. Bilbo III, Savannah Bilbo, and Emmett Bilbo and one granddaughter, Ava Bilbo. He leaves to mourn countless relatives and friends. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans, Mass. at 10 a.m. March 15, followed by interment at Orleans Cemetery. A reception will follow at Sandpipers Sports Pub in Eastham, Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made, in his memory, to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass.
