James Isom Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- James Morgan Isom, Jr., 60, died Friday, November 25, 2016.
Born January 11, 1956, Jimmy was the son of the late James Morgan and Frances Payne Isom. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Clemson University, where he was a member and Councilman of the Kappa Alpha Order. Jimmy was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved, Donna Johnson; his sons, John Michael Isom and his wife, Julia, of John's Island, SC and Nicholas Walker Isom of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Ellen Isom Gordon and her husband, Joel; nieces, Sarah Gordon Komisarow and her husband, Jordan, and Jessica Gordon.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 28th, 3:30PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Steve Wise.
Pallbearers will be Phil Morrow, Phil Wilson, Byrd Miller, Chat Gilmore, Steve Poole, Carlton Carr, Miller McCormick, and Rich Harris.
The family will be at the home.
In remembrance of Jimmy, memorials may be made to the Gibbs Cancer Institute and Research Center, 101 E Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Access Health, 358 Serpentine Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

Lovely send off for "Buck" this afternoon. A reunion of his family and friends that were able to make it here. He would have preferred to be in the mist of us all drinking a cold one and cheering each one of us. Started in kindergarten with him and played a lot of golf through the years with him. Going to miss Jimmy more than he knows. Julie and I pray for his family to be consoled by HIM knowing Jimmy was loved and is now in paradise and hitting the golf ball straight for the first time. JImmy left us all special memories we will hold close to our hearts. BuckO left us too early.
