PETERS, Jack Wesley
He had a fishing pole in his hand as he left this world on July 15, 2018. Jack was welcomed by his parents Lloyd T. Peters and Lyma (Alsup) Peters, his sister D. Jean Molly, Bothell, WA and his brother Lloyd T. Peters Jr. (Bud), Spokane, WA.
He was active from the day he was born, September 19, 1934, until his last days of his life. Heart failure and Alzheimer's robbed him of his wish to live to be 100. Dad always wanted to be doing something. His love was fishing, he never met a stream, river or lake he didn't enjoy, the favorite was in Alaska. He tied his own fishing flies until his death. During his life he enjoyed constructing radio controlled airplanes and boats, winning many awards for his creations. His love of the outdoors included, snow skiing, snowmobiling and camping. He enjoyed entertaining and was renowned for his BBQ sauce, enjoying preparing ribs and chicken and his colossal potato salad.
The first day of school for him was at Whitman Elementary, attending St. Patrick's school, Gonzaga Prep and graduated from John R. Rogers in 1953. He attended some college and went to work at Northwest Radio and TV. In 1968 a co-worker Hal Davis and he opened Comet TV Sales and Service. He operated the business until he retired.
Jack married Jacquelyn Driskill on September 4, 1954 and they had five children, Sherilyn (W.Lynn), Randall, Richard (Patricia) his children, Lisa (Michael), Andy (Hannah), and Tony (Laura), Carolyn, her children, Christopher (Janice), Brookelyn and Brandon, and his youngest son, Ronald (Michelle). He had eight great-grandchildren. They later divorced. Jack married Lorna Cobb. They built their dream home on the Pend Oreille River and enjoyed years of fishing, snowmobiling with the Winter Knights and dancing. They later divorced and he met Shirley Santana his partner for 15 years. His belief, "We are just passing through" and he was going to live life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, and ex-wife Lorna Cobb.
A Memorial will be held at his childhood church, St. Patrick's located at 5021 N. Nelson St., on September 22, 2018 at 1:00pm. The Celebration of Life will be held next door in the School Hall immediately following. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the John R. Rogers student fund or a
