Terrance Davis Obituary

Terrance "Terry" L. Davis

Terrance "Terry" Leo Davis died on February 2nd, 2014. Terry was born in Ashland, WI and spent a great deal of time in Wausau and Waupaca during his youth and graduated from Waupaca High School in 1970. Terry then joined the US Army and served a tour in Vietnam in numerous capacities as a UH-1 Helicopter Crew Chief. He earned the Army Commendation Medal before being honorably discharged at the end of 1972. He came back to Wausau and went to work for local businesses such as General Telephone and Wausau Homes and married Cindy (Martin) Davis in 1978. He graduated from North Central Technical Institute in 1982 with degrees in Robotics, Electronics, and Laser Technology. He then moved to Eau Claire, WI to work at Cray Research, Inc. in Chippewa Falls, WI. He was proud of his work at Cray and his contributions in building the world's fastest Cray Supercomputer, which played a huge role in advancing computer technology. After his work at Cray, he and Cindy went on to start three Rocky Rococo restaurants in Stevens Point, Wausau, and Brooklyn Park, MN. Terry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, sailing, and working in the outdoors; fishing with friends on the Chippewa River and Lowes Creek (Eau Claire, WI) and Chequamegon Bay (Bayfield, WI) was Heaven on Earth for him. A man who knew a lot about everything, Terry was the handyman's handyman. He learned much of this from his grandfather Rudolph Ramseier and longtime friend Jack Brandt who loved him like a son and who also passed away recently. In the last several years, he helped his daughter Maria and son-in-law Chris build their farm up into a successful business and long-term establishment on the land that they shared in Custer, WI. Terry was a lifelong Packers fan who loved to have a good time with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Cindy Davis; his daughters Maria (Chris), Custer, WI, and Sarah (John), Boulder, CO; his sister Connie Nelson, Madison, WI; and his extended family and friends. He will also be missed by his wonderful dogs - Rambo, Dakota, and Katie--who he considered to be his "family friends".

Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 8, 2014 at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home 703 Second Street Stevens Point. Visitation on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Full military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.
