Coming in a little late here. Fred was my sister Maureen`s godfather. I remember Mr. Applegate from long-ago, David, it would be nice to chat sometime. I remember your mom and your dad with the greatest love and appreciation.

My sympathy to Fred´s family. I had the good fortune of working for Fred in the accounting department at Laclede Gas. He was an incredible boss, mentor and friend. Fred was quite the athlete and fast ball pitcher.....impossible to hit. Thanks for the memories and Rest In Peace Fred!

So sorry to hear about Mr. Applegate's passing. He was such a kind man. Every CYC baseball practice and game was fun, positive, and a learning experience. Whoever had to chase down a ball out in a field or a creek was always sent off with a "Hey send a Postcard!" We lived in the same neighborhood, so Mr. Applegate would always give me a lift to and from practice. His son Dave and I probably learned something new from Mr. Applegate every car ride. After college, I'd still occasionally run into Mr. Applegate at the Florissant Library in Bangert Park. He was always looking for new publications (I believe he had a strong interest in Russian history). My sincere condolences to Mrs. Applegate, Dave, and family.

We didn't get to see Rosemary and Fred often, but my grandmother, Lorraine Waldhof (Bugg), loved them both so much and talked about them all the time. When we did get to visit, I always had the best time and remember Fred as wonderfully funny and so kind. Love and prayers to Rosemary and her family.
