Mohammed Kabir Obituary

Kabir, Dr. Mohammed A., M.D. A distinguished life fellow of The American Psychiatric Association Mohammed A. Kabir M.D. devoted his entire life to helping others. A selfless man who with his wife Nafisa raised a family of five and gave birth to his greatest passion of all, Centrec Care Inc. that formed in 1986. The love he had for his community was apparent. Under his leadership, his efforts resulted in keeping the St. Louis Blues Hockey team from relocating in 1983. Stop complaining and do something about it were the words which inspired the Doctor to develop his famous A 12 Step Journey to Wellness program. Dr. Kabir, born on April 1, 1931 is survived by his loving wife Nafisa and his children Sylvia Kabir, Ivy Alwell, Connie Molenhour, Koly Parisi and Dr. Amyas Kabir. He is also the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren Colleen Tilford, Shawn Fette, Jason and Derek Molenhour Brian McMahon, Tim and Ryan Alwell, Stephanie and Ashley Parisi and Hailey Kabir and his great grandchildren Jolie, Kieran, Julian, Ahmon, Ayana, Milan and Brielle. His son in laws Brian Alwell, Robert Molenhour, Andrew Parisi, and daughter in law Kara Tiede-Kabir were an intricate part of his life as well. Jason Tilford husband of Colleen contributed his love for the culinary arts to the entire Kabir family. On May 29th 2014 Dr. Kabir passed away and in his memory a funeral service will be held for his family and close friends Monday at 10 a.m. at Bellerive Gardens Chapel located at 740 N. Mason Rd in Creve Coeur. Following the service, beginning at 1 p.m. a celebration of his life will be held at Centrec Care located at 1224 Fern Ridge Pkwy, Suite 305, Creve Coeur MO. Love you pooch! Miss you dearly! We finally got that cup. Wish you were there, all the time, to witness it with you! It was so bitter sweet. Brought me back to the times you took me to all those games; followed by stopping off at Imos pizza, mostly to drown our sorrows over a tough loss. We finally won that last game.

To you Dad, with Love❤ Missing you so much this holiday season and always!

On May 29th 2014 my Father went to be with his Heavenly Father. My Dad is in his Glory! My Dad is in a place of "perfection" and "beauty!" My Dad's spirit lives on! My Dads intuition made him one of the greatest resources of awakening one's world of darkness to a world of light! For the past year I have embraced Dad's life of service, sacrifice, selflessness to not only his family but to all who knew him. I remember the moment when he said to me, "Koly, always be kind to those who are less fortunate than you because one day you may see them going up as you're coming down" That statement was a pivotal point in my life! My Dad continued sharing his words of wisdom with me so I placed them where they would never be lost, In my heart! My Father is very much alive! And today...I celebrate his life! My Father has risen to greater heights! He is Angelic! I can't wait to see you Dad so I can embrace you forever! I love and admire you for being an honorable Father and a great Rabbi! My memories of you live on! I hear your laughter, see your joy and share your thoughts on life, love and the pursuit of happiness! Until we meet again Dad, may you be with us in spirit because truly...we still need you! Your loving daughter, Koly Chiara Parisi Kabir

Hello, I am posting here out of gratitude for Dr. Kabir's efforts in keeping the Blues in St. Louis. Sports are not as important as family matters, however, so please pardon me if this attempt at consolation is too trivial. I just wanted to wish your family well at your time of loss.

Dr. kabir always went above and beyond all expectations. Over the five years I spent with the family he always took extra time out of his routine to make me feel comfortable and at ease. He offered so much wisdom during our trying but enlightening conversations. I experienced many personal hardships during the time I knew Dr kabir. He had a knowledge that surpassed any physical plane and outstretched to such a calm and quiet wisdom that can be gained through more then just life experience alone. I appreciated his chicken curry which after almost passing out from heat stroke the first time became a meal I often looked forward to. He became a friend and like a grandpa to me as time passed. I will cherish his life and knowledge that will continue on for lifetimes to come. May god honor your life and your future which is forever blessed with eternal glory and may your angelic light shine above us offering a promise of hope and unconditional love. Our newest guardian Angel in heaven. The family will be forever blesses with his guidance. All my love to Shawn and the Kabirs and Molenhours. Sending healing thoughts and energy to all of you.
With love and gratefulness,

Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people–they always go away sooner or later. You can't hold them anymore than you can hold moonlight. But if they've touched you, if they're inside you, then they're still yours; just like my uncle Dr. M.A. Kabir. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.
Dr. M.A Kabir's death is not the extinguishing of a light, but the putting out of the lamp because the dawn has come, as he entered a new beginning! I'm really saddened for the death of Fupa (means Uncle). He was an extraordinary man and a fantastic human being with unconditional love. There are many in the community and in the family who will mourn deeply his passing as his life was full of service, love, compassion and excellence.
May he rest in peace!
Love you Fupa.
