Burton, Walter on April 17, 2009. Loving husband of Yolanda Burton (nee Slawnyk); dear father of Nina (Michael) Haskin and the late Andrey Burton; dear grandfather of Ryan Haskin and Danielle Estes dear brother-in-law of Andre Slawnyk and Helen Martin; dear uncle of Thomas, Timothy, Tracey, Todd, Torrey, Anne Marie, Andrew, Rebecca and other neices and nephews; dear friend to many. Memorials appreciated to Unity Hospice. Services: Funeral Service at HOFFMEISTER SOUTH COUNTY Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Wed., April 22 at 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation on Tue., April 21 from 4-9 p.m.

I worked with Wally & car pooled years ago. He described his early years growing up in Poland as well as suffering under Nazi (and later Communist) rule. He did not seem to bitter at all. He had a great sense of humor.

I will miss Walter dearly. He has been a big part of my life since I was 8 yrs. old. Oh the stories! I have always kind of thought of him as my second dad. He will always have a special place in my heart. Love, Laura
