Thomas Wayne Favre

On Saturday, June 23rd, Wayne went home to be with Our Lord.
"Tommy" to his family, was born May 30, 1937, to Forrest L. Favre Sr. and Rita B. Favre of Bay St. Louis, MS. He graduated from St. Stanislaus College and attended Pearl River Junior College. While on weekend leave from the Army in 1962, he proposed to his first love, Emily Jo Dubuisson. Together they made their home in the Pineville area.
Wayne spent his live volunteering for his church and community. Throughout his adult life he was an active member of Our Ladies of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served many leadership roles in the church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He helped bring Cursillo to South Mississippi.
He was a founding member of Cuevas Five-O, a reserve deputy for Harrison County, and an active volunteer with Cuevas Volunteer Fire Department. He coached the children of the Pineville community in baseball, football, and basketball.
In 1975, he opened his heart and home to Dot and the Lumpkin children. They spent many happy years together laughing, dancing, and playing cards with friends. He continued coaching and volunteering for many of their 30 years together.
He was employed by Canal Barge Co., Arizona (Reichhold) Chemical, and he taught food service at the Harrison Co. Detention Center. He was a retired member of the MS Army National Guard, former member of School Board for the Harrison County School District, and most recently, he was the director of Feed My Sheep in Gulfport.
He was proceded in death by his parents Forrest Sr. and Rita B, his wives, Emily Jo Dubisson Favre and Dorothy Lumpkin Favre, his son, Robert "Flouder" Wayne, and siblings Harry, Roy, Sister Alma Patricia SSJ, Clyde, Myles, Beatrice Ward, and Forrest Jr. He is survived by daughters Debra (Charlie) Smith of DeLisle and Pamela Favre of Leesburg, FL. He was PawPaw to grandchildren Chase (Kayrin) Smith of Kiln, Anissa and Courtney Smith of Delisle, Carly Lumpkin of Austin, TX and Wesley (Leah) Lumpkin of Glen Burnie, MD. Great grandchildren; Kole and Kaylin Smith, and Henry Lumpkin. He is survived by siblings Jane Scarborough of Bay St. Louis/Jackson and Michael Shaun Favre of Kenner, LA. He is loved by numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws, extended family and faithful friends Tammy Lumpkin, Warren Reso and Michelle Luibel.
He enjoyed his travels to Germany, dancing, cooking, eating, and feeding people. He never met a stranger, and would give you the shirt off his back. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass.
