Alice and family,

I was saddened by the death of Sal. I remember him fondly, while growing up...he was a fixture in the neighbor. Always there to lend a helping hand, or just a quick chat.

My kids remember him as the neighbor who took them in when they forgot their house key and had to wait for someone to come home from work. Sometimes, I think they forgot their house key on purpose, just to spend time with Sal and Alice.

Sal would never miss a moment to give a wave or hello whenever he saw me. Even after I moved out and would come to visit my parents.

Sal will be greatly missed.

Alice, John and I were shocked and saddened to hear that cousin Sal had passed away. Sal was such a wonderful person, always so friendly and welcoming each time you saw him. I remember how he would always ask about John's family and the bait shop and would share with us another fishing story from years ago. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your entire family; we will remember each of you in our prayers. Love from your Sacramento cousins, John and Geri Romeo

Sal was an old world gentleman. One of my favorite rememberances of Sal is that he never let his wife, Alice, put gas in the car. He always did that for her. Making sure she always had a full tank was one of those little courtesies he did to demonstrate his love for his wife of 49 years. God bless you, Sal.
