Eva Jean (Palmer) Christena, 95, of Daleville, IN, went home to the Lord after a brief illness.
Eva was born April 3, 1922 in Lovett, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Lurline (Shepherd) Palmer.
She lived many years in Indianapolis, IN, 30 years in Vero Beach, FL, ant the last four years in Daleville, with her daughter and family.
Eva Jean was a past member of several churches during her life, with Vero Beach Church of Christ and Journey Church of Christ in Anderson being the most recent. She served in various capacities and was dearly loved.
Eva Jean was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and serving the Lord and her family. She was a past member of the Broad Ripple Garden Club and the auxiliary of Indian River Medical Center with over 10,000 volunteer hours there.
She is survived by her four children, John D. Christena, (NC) Jeffrey (Nancy) Christena (IN), Sue Anne Orme (CA) and Elizabeth (Scott) Silvers (IN); her brother, Walter Earl Palmer; ten grandchildren; nine Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John D. Christena and her sister, Aldine Thomas.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Clay Humphries officiating. Visitation will be two hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Journey Church of Christ or Vero Beach Church of Christ.

My condolences to the Christena family! 1 Peter 1:3 tells us that our Heavenly Father gave us a hope by way of his son Jesus Christ that we will be able to see our loved ones again. Until that time comes in the near future rely on our Heavenly Father and trust that he will comfort you.
