I was privileged to be Dr. Hanshaw's cardiologist and he worked with my dad who loved and respected him greatly. I will miss him dearly. I loved seeing him in clinic he always made me laugh. He always spoke of his love for his family. When I heard he was on hospice I called him and he apologized for not coming into UMass for any more visits. Always a perfect gentleman until the end. All my love to his family❤

Your Dad was the kindest most humble man! You would never guess his brilliant background by the way he interacted with you. He never blinked when we ran down the street to ask him to look at one of the latest cuts or bruises or coughs when our kids were little. He could calm the most frantic Mom or screaming kid in a heartbeat. So very sorry for your loss so close to his birthday and Christmas. Prayers for peace.

To the Hanshaw Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I always looked forward to seeing and talking with him at Sunday Mass. I also have the privilege of owning two of his paintings - they will mean much more now.
