James Porter Obituary
Worcester - James A. Porter, 56, of Worcester died Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 at home. He leaves his sister, Sharon A. P. Schedin and her husband, Mark of Worcester; a niece, Jennifer E. Perchak of Worcester; two grand nephews, Daniel Horner and Layne Perchak; two grand nieces, Isabella and Lillian Perchak; his neighbors and close friends, Al Sawtell and Nicholas Benson.
He was born in Worcester the son of Arthur F. Porter, Jr. and Barbara A. (Cronin) Porter and graduated from St. John's High School. Mr. Porter was a security guard at State Mutual and then Allmerica before retiring. James had a great love and fondness for Jazz music. He was his father's caregiver for the past three years until he passed away in June.
His funeral is Saturday, September 29th with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.

I knew james for maney years, good times and bad. We always talked and understood each other. He was a good friend, met and talked with his dad maney times, busted each other out of respect, grumpy with a smile. James you well be mised by so many. peace,, thaddeus J.

This speaks volumes about James. While I don't know him or his family, I can only imagine how genuine and caring he was. It seems unfair that he should leave this world so young and so soon after his father - but - perhaps there is something bittersweet about it after all is said and done. Both together now.
