Nashville - Age 36 January 18, 2019. Survived by children, Johnny L. (Troy) Chumley Jr., Kevin and Kenya Clay; parents, Teresa Clay and Jerome (Tracie) Patton; sisters, Jeriesha Peoples and Jasmine Mitchell; grandmothers, Shirley Clay and Frances Patton Owens; other relatives and friends. Public viewing Friday, January 25, 2019 12 noon-6pm at the funeral home. Visitation Saturday, January 26, 2019 11am-12 noon with funeral to follow at Community Baptist Church, 3838 Dickerson Rd., Pastor Vincent Johnson, Eulogist. J. W. ADKINS FUNERAL HOME, 615-292-8367.

OMG! Candice's name popped up in my head so I decided to google her. The first thing I saw was obit on Candice Clay. I am very deeply sadden as Candice was like a sister to me growing up. We both kind of grew up like only children even though she has siblings on her father's side. She would always come to my home and we kept in contact until we were grown. We some how lost contact in between and I had not spoken to her in years, since she lived in the apartments on the hill. She had baby Troy and was pregnant with her twins. Teresa I know this is very late but let me know if you ever need anything from me.

I just found out about Candice passing away. It really hurt me deeply.as word are hard to say. But by God grace and mercy I am going to do my best to explain how important she was to me. I met Candice at a place and time that I needed to hear a kind word as well as have a loving face and Candice was what God brought to me. We talked about everything and really became good close friend. She always had a kind word to say to me and and was always willing to help me any way she could. I love her deeply and I am really going to miss her. Candice was the main reason I wrote a book as well as God himself. She would always push me to keep going and that what I did and by God grace and mercy my book is going to be published. To keep her in memories I have put her in my second book I know that she would have liked that. My prayers goes out to her kids and family and if there is anything I can do please let me know. Even at this late time. Candice thank you for believing in me and always caring. I know you are in a better place in heaven with my mom and one day I will see you both again. RIP Candice u was one of the good one by God grace and mercy.

Wow, this is a great loss! My heart breaks for her children and family. Keep leaning on God, he is giving the tired one power to continue through this difficult time.
