Phyllis Elaine LeBlanc Patin

Phyllis Elaine LeBlanc Patin (Mrs Charles) died in her sleep on June 16, 2020. She was born in Lafayette, LA on June 7, 1940. She is survived by her husband, Charles S Patin of Castle Rock, CO. Three sons, Gregory Blane of Puerto Rico, Ryan David of Castle Rock, CO, Don Luis (Amber Joseph) of Flower Mound TX, one daughter Hellen Elaine Patin Swanson (William), one sister, Mrs Joseph Ward Landry (Olga LeBlanc), 10 grandchildren and 9 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr and Mrs Wilfred LeBlanc (Gladys Guidry) and a daughter Charlynn Patin Binford.

Phyllis loved her family, all of them, but she was especially drawn to the little ones. She could spot a baby in a room full of adults. She loved seeing pictures of her grand children and great grand children on Face Book and through Face Time. lIn return, she was dearly by all of them.

Phyllis graduated Lafayette High School as Valedictorian and went on to study English and Speech Education at University of Southwestern LA (now ULL) where she graduated Summa Cum Laude). She taught at Mt Carmel Academy, Lafayette, LA, Redemptorist Jr High, Baton Rouge, LA, Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, New Roads, LA and Montgomery HS, Montgomery, TX.

Phyllis was the ultimate English teacher. She not only taught subject matter but connected it to life itself. She became a mentor to many students at every school she taught. She was in touch with several students until days before her death.

Phyllis donated her body to science so there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity or to one of the following: alz.org, Sierra Club, Audubon Society, Special Olympics or any organization that helps children with special needs.
