Floyd Gourley

Floyd Wayne Gourley, a resident of Central, LA passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 84 years. He was a native of Zachary, LA. Floyd served the US Navy proudly aboard the USS Casa Grandre, and retired from Florida Gas Transmission as a Plant Operator. He was a faithful member of Comite Church of Christ in Central, LA. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lydia M. Gourley; son and daughter-in-law, Reubin and Tara Gourley; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Rick Norton; step-son and wife, Michael and Cindy Ward; son-in-law and wife, Rick and Denise Collier; six grandchildren, Erin and Brandon Carraway, Drew & Emily Gourley, Patrick Norton, Thatch Norton, Jacob Collier, Katelyn and Levi Young; two step-granddaughters, Amanda and Jared Acy and Kristian and Adam Davis; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Kay Baker. Floyd is preceded in death by father, Rube Gourley, and mother, Mildred Gourley Brooks; sister and brother-in-law Loretta and Truman Cook; step-daughter, Melody Ward Collier; and sister-in-law, Anne Shaffer. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 PM conducted by Will Tramel, minister of Comite Church of Christ in Central. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, LA.
