Marion A. Gattis, 85, of Salinas, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 5, 2016. She was born May 1, 1931, in Montana.
Marion graduated from Salinas High School in 1949. She was employed by Spreckels Sugar Company from 1955 to 1968. She then went onto Monterey County Health Department in 1969 and was employed there for 35 years. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Marion is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Watts (Mike Watts) and Charlene Gattis. Marion was blessed with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Henrietta Kilmer; her first husband, Granville Gattis; her second husband, Jeff R. Gattis, and her daughter, Barbara M. Gattis.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA 93905.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Healey Mortuary.
Graveside Committal will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.
There will be a reception immediately following services at Casa Sorrento Pizzeria, 393 Salinas St., Salinas, CA 93901.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like remembrances to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Marion was a love. Working with her at MCHD was a gift to me. She had such clear memories of Salinas before I was born.
