Frances Hancock Rogers

Frances Hancock Rogers passed away on June 4, 2014. She will be remembered as a loving mother, Grammy and Great-Grammy. She loved dancing, laughing, parties, and was an avid collector of purses, shoes, and scarves.

Frances was born August 7, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Frances Odell Hancock and Alton B. Hancock. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Fred A. Rogers, Jr., her sister Alice Hancock Richard, and her loving friend Harry M. Jared. She is survived by her brother Dr. Alton O. Hancock and his wife Jane B. Hancock; her daughter Sheryl Rogers Luck and her husband, John F. Luck, Jr.; her son Fred A. Rogers, III and his wife, Rhonda Little Rogers, and her two children Sydney and Camryn; her daughter in law Theresa Rogers Odom and her husband, Gregory Glen Odom; her four grandchildren, Rachel Luck Africk, Dr. Lowery Rogers Reiland, Dr. John Benjamin Luck, and Fred Austin Rogers, IV; and her three great grandchildren, Harper, Samuel and August.

Frances's family is thankful for the caring staff and her dear friends at The Savannah at the Oaks, for making her last two years so wonderful.

Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Graveside services will be held at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First United Methodist Church in Shreveport or Christus Schumpert Grace Home.
