Mari-Lyn, Dylan, and Zach, I was shocked to see that Donnie has left us. You don't know me but I went to high school at Marlboro with him, he was one year behind me, and I remember him well. He was a great guy, really cool musician (I remember his band HAZE), friend to everyone, always funny and sweet. We lost touch after graduation and I am glad to see that he has such a wonderful family and was loved by so many. I live in CT now and just happened to see his obituary in the local paper. Small world, but definitely a sadder one without Donnie. My prayers are with you and all your family (I remember his cousin Brian Mackewich also) and hope that all the good memories will bring some comfort. I am sure he is watching over all those he loved. Be at peace, Donnie.

Mari-Lynn,
Shocked and saddened to hear about Don. I was looking forward to taking his class at Mercer! It has been so long since we have seen you, but you have often been on our minds and in our hearts. Don was such a nice coach, and wonderful father. Your two sons are proof of that! He will be missed by so many. If there is anything you need please let us know.

Mari-Lyn, You don't know me, but I worked with Don a number of years ago when it was still Accelera-Romar. My heart goes out to you and your family. Don had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. I hope you find support in family and friends as you navigate the difficult days ahead.

Mari-Lynn, Dylan, and Zach, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't possibly say enough good things about Don. He was like a big brother to me. He made my day everyday. He was the reason I loved coming to work early. No matter how much was going on at work or in life he always started every morning with a BIG smile. We shared ideas, music, art, laughs, interests, and most importantly friendship. Don was a great friend and role-model. He will always be an inspiration to me in so many ways. The way he treated others, the way he raised his family, the way he LOVED his family, the way he cared about his friends, how he was always there to listen and always there to help, the way he always had a smile and always found a reason to laugh. Don was always including and never excluding. I love you Don and I miss you.

I met Don a few times but he made them count. I will never forget his support of his son Dylan during his cross country races. Dylan is a great friend, teammate and housemate of mine and I can only imagine how great of a father he had to have been to create such a well rounded son. My heart goes out to Mari-Lynn, Dylan, Zach and the entire family. May he rest easy
