I went to high school and Louisburg college with Wendy. I lost touch with Wendy over the years and I was saddened to see she had passed. Wendy had a big impact on my life and she didn't even know it. After Louisburg college I had no direction of what I was going to do as far as a career. I occasionally spoke to Wendy during that time and she informed me she had gone back to school to pursue Nursing at Durham Community College. It was because of that conversation with Wendy that led me to attend that same school and pursue nursing as well. Funny how life is. You meet certain people in your life and they impact it for the better. For me, Wendy was that person. I have had a great career with 22 years in so far. I met my wife in Miami and have been happily married for over a decade. None of it would have happened if I had not had that conversation with Wendy. I was blessed to have known her. In my senior year of high school, Wendy was my project partner in World Civilizations and I realized how smart she was then. Any advice she ever gave me I considered it golden. Im sure she touched many lives as she has mine. I hadn't seen or talked to Wendy since the early 1980s and I always wanted to tell her that, the advice she gave me, sent my life in a very good direction. Thankyou, Wendy. You will be missed.
