It grieves me very much to be signing this guest book. It was just last weekend that I told some dear friends of my intentions to go find Ed Luebke and share with him all that he did to coach and tutor me. I finished a book just a matter of months ago entitled The Mentor (www.thementorbook.net) and so very much of the person that I describe as my mentor is Ed Luebke. In many respects, it is he who was The Mentor.

He boosted me when I needed encouragement and lifted me up when I felt that I couldn't do the things that needed to be done. He also put me back in place when I needed to be reminded of where I came from.

There is a part of Ed Luebke that is still a part of me and always will be. How sad it is to think that tonight as a daydreamed about surprising him at his doorstep with my book and all the roads that I have walked since he last patted me on the back, that a search would only yield an obituary.

He was a coach, he was a friend. He was a leader and he was a mentor.

All of my love goes to the family. He was a great man and he touched many, many lives. His spirit lives on in so very many of us. But I am certain that as I elaborate on all the gifts that he offered the world, anybody who knows him will surely chime in with a gruff and warm voice... "I understand all that."

You will be missed Mr. Luebke. You were very loved. God bless you.
