San Juanita Alonzo

Mission - San Juanita Alonzo, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her residence in Mission. She was born in Edinburg, baptized at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission and raised in Reynosa, Tamaulipas and had been a resident of Mission since 1968. She will be remembered for being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by parents, Jose Garza Cruz and Francisca Ramirez de Garza, her husband, Juan Alonzo, her daughter, Ermelinda Alonzo, her brothers, Jose Garza, Roque Garza, Mariano Garza, and Franscisco Garza. She is survived by her children; Jorge (Guillermina) Alonzo, Juan Ramon (Elida) Alonzo, Jose Luis (San Juanita) Alonzo, Javier (Berta) Alonzo, Guadalupe (Rogerio) Rodriguez, Maria Alicia (Alfredo) Perez, Maria Berta (Jorge) Balderas, twenty six grandchildren, fifty six great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ramon Garza and Leopoldo Garza plus numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Margarita Banales (her niece), Maria Barba (her sister in law), Mirasol PHC and Cima Hospice for their loving care in her final days. Visitation for San Juanita Alonzo will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service and a 7 p.m. rosary on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
