Robert Donalson

Robert "Big" Donalson, age 91, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, formerly of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Ford officiating.

Robert was born November 11, 1931, in Bainbridge, Georgia the son of John Carter Donalson and Lucy Leola Donalson.
He graduated from Pine Hill High School and was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service. During his assignment to the Pacific Air Force Headquarters from 1967 to 1969, he made staff assistance visits to all Air Bases in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, The Philippines, Guam, and Okinawa. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, three Air Force Commendation medals, and several other awards. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the time he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Sherry Moore Donalson of Blue Ridge; his daughter, Debbie Liner, and husband, Danny, of Mooresville, North Carolina; his son, Randy Donalson of Blue Ridge; his brother, A. J. Donalson of Bainbridge, Georgia; his sisters, Mary Jones of Fayetteville, Georgia and Janie Lasek of Woodstock, Georgia; his grandsons, Brent Liner and wife, Nancy of Avon, North Carolina and Daren Liner of Thomasville, North Carolina; and his great-grandchildren, Marissa Liner, Jacob Liner, Lucas Liner and Callahan Liner.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Terry Donalson; and his brothers, Hershel Donalson and Johnny Donalson.
