Ronald Blakeney Obituary
Funeral services for Ronald Leon Blakeney, Sr., will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church Calhoun, LA. Rev. Neil Everett will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Ronald was born February 26, 1944 in Monroe, LA and passed away August 20, 2017. He retired from the United States Navy June 30, 1983 having served 20 years of service and received many honors. Following his military duties he went to work with Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, as a jailer at OCC and he was a member of First Baptist Church Calhoun. Ronald was an avid fisherman.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Blakeney; 3 sons; Kyle Alan Blakeney, Michael Clark Blakeney and wife Tanya, Ronald Leon Blakeney; 9 grandchildren, Nina Young, Hannah Blakeney, Kyle Blakeney II, Christopher James Blakeney, Casey Aaron Blakeney, Cody Lee Blakeney, Camden Alek Blakeney, Grayson Blakeney and Elizabeth Marie Stauffer; 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Wilbanks, Dolan Jackson, Alton Wilbanks, Ray Bennett, Jimmy Holton and James Futrell.
Memorial may be made to American Heart Association or Building Fund @ First Baptist Church Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
