Dearest Jackie,

Dave will always have a place in my heart. He always had a smile and a joke when coming into our insurance agency.

Then I was fortunate enough to know him as a co-worker with Safeco Ins. for 5 years. I'm sure he had a part when I was hired. When times were tough and when everyone around was negative, Dave always looked at the positive side of things. That's just the way he was.

When he retired, again, he put in a good word and I was given the opportunity to take over his territory.

His crazy sox and ties brought smiles to everyone he met. I've never known anyone that brightened everyone's days like he did.

Even though we will all miss him tremendously, he is with our Lord and Savior and now one of the brightest angels in Heaven.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jackie, Janeen, and Scott,

It has been many years since I have seen you all, but wanted to let you know I was thinking of your family. My memories of your house and family was one word---FUN! When I think of your Dad I just remember he was an involved dad. I remember liking to be around him. And I remember the smell of bar-be-que and grilling out on your deck (on Thorn). I loved going over to your house. Your home was a home. Laughter, food, fun and whoever was there was made to feel at home. David had many accomplishments, but how I remember him (as I was a kid), was being such a great family man--Thank you for including me in your family---

What a pleasure it was to know Dave. He was a wonderful person who lived a life that we could all use as an example to live by. He was the Pastor of Indian Camp Baptist Church several years ago where my parents attended and the marketing rep for American States Insurance for the agency that I work for. I enjoyed all the conversations that we had throughout the years. Dave's sense of humor was one of the things that made him a special person and he always said when we got together at lunch especially at Giant City Lodge " I don't see why we shouldn't have fried chicken. " I think Dave will be enjoying fried chicken in Heaven for eternity. I know Madge and Bill Richey will be glad to see him again.
Speaking for all the Richey family from Dykersburg, our thoughts and prayers are with you Jackie and your family. Thank you for sharing Dave with us.

Our condolences and prayers are with Jackie and the whole family.

We mourn deeply with you having lost our faithful friend. He persevered to the end. He was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone he knew.

He touched thousands with his devotion to the Gospel of Christ and self sacrificing love. His testimony survives. Now he is welcomed into the bosom of God, who will say "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful, enter thou into the joy of the Lord. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Matthew 25: 21,34
