Mrs. Weir died on Monday, March 7, 2011. Daughter of the late James Gordon and Minerva Palmer Bradley, she was born June 23, 1929, in Sumter, SC. A graduate of Ridgeway High School and Coker College, she served as chairman of Fairfield County Board of Voter's Registration for 25 years.
Mrs. Weir loved life and treasured her family, especially the annual family week at the beach. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Winnsboro where she lovingly maintained the church garden. She was an active member of Anemone Garden Club and a life member of the Garden Club of South Carolina. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Mrs. Weir will be remembered for her gracious hosting of many Clemson football tailgates, even through sweltering heat or soaking rain.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Harvey Weir; four children, Pam Weir Gill and husband, Jim, of Charleston, Thomas Harvey Weir Jr. and wife, Ellen, of Tega Cay, James Bradley Weir and wife, Jill, of Clemson, and David Kirk Weir of Lake Murray; and six grandchildren, Louisa Gill, Caroline Gill, Joey Weir, Jeff Weir, Jordan Weir, and Sonja Tate.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weir was predeceased by one sister, Louise Bradley Johnson.

Pam, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has died. She was a good friend to me, and I know how much you will miss her. It's sad that you and Miriam both lost your Mothers within weeks of each other. I wish I could be there to go to the funeral. I just heard tonight. Love to the family, and hope to talk to you soon. Fran Haselden

Pam,
Sorry to hear about your mother. I know this is a difficult time for you. May it comfort you to know your friends care and are keeping you lifted up in prayer. May God comfort you as only He can during this time. Remember God is closest to the brokenhearted. Also take heart in knowing that a part of your Mom will always live on in you. Although I never knew her, I know she was one special lady because she raised you and you are one special lady. Love and prayers, Carol Neumann

I enjoyed working with "Miss Dora" for many years with the Voters Registration Board when I was with the Town of Winnsboro...she was the true epitomy of a gracious southern lady...
