Thomas Kittrell Obituary

Thomas Malcolm Kittrell COPE - Thomas Malcolm Kittrell, 85, of 149 Kittrell Ct., Cope, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Military Honors. Rev. Scott Alewine officiating. Pallbearers, Jared Kittrell, Jeremy Kittrell, Joshua Kittrell, Matthew Kittrell, Mike Kittrell, and Willie Etheridge. He was born November 14, 1926 in Orangeburg County, SC, the son of the late Hallie W. Kittrell and the late Lilly Victoria Etheridge Kittrell. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of World War II. He retired in 1985 from DuPont in Aiken, SC. He was a member of the Bamberg Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Thomas Kittrell and a sister, Mary Kathleen Croft. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Sanders Kittrell of the home; 2 sons, Roger (Dale) Kittrell of Cope and Terry (Lena) Kittrell of Springfield; 4 grandchildren; Jared, Jeremy, Joshua and Matthew; 4 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Naomi, Eden and Ava; 1 sister, Grace McAlhany of Branchville; 2 brothers, Hallie Kittrell and Jacob Kittrell both of Cope. Family will receive friends at the residence, 149 Kittrell Ct., Cope and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277. The family would like to thank Linda Phillips; Laurel Baye Healthcare Center and Hospice Care of South Carolina for their loving care and support.
