Paul Strauskulage Obituary
Born in the Nay Aug section of Dunmore, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen Sholack Strauskulage. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore, and served the country honorably in the Army during World War II in the 42nd Infantry Division as a rifleman and Russian interpreter. Paul proudly served the Borough of Dunmore as a police captain for more than three decades.
He was an ambitious and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his life to providing for his family. Paul's love of the outdoors was well known, especially hunting with his son, Paul, and son-in-law, Gary, and his fishing trips to Canada.
Surviving are four daughters, Ellen Strauskulage, Dunmore; Paula Ceccarelli and husband, Gary, Archbald; Theresa Strauskulage, Dunmore; and Mary Ann DiPasquale and husband, Dickson City; a son, Paul Gerard Strauskulage and his wife, Susan, Mount Cobb; four grandchildren, Matthew and Luke Strauskulage, Mount Cobb; and Domenick and Devin DiPasquale, Dickson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Jr.; a granddaughter, Amy Strauskulage; four sisters, Anna Millan, Pauline Strauskulage, Helen Alexander and Mary Baker; and three brothers, Peter, John and George.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

We met Paul while I was getting rehabilitation in the Dunmore Health Care Center. He was a very nice man and I had many nice conversations with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his daughters and family. Charles Matis and Family.

Strauskulage family,
My father was born in Nay Aug and knew Paul well .. I knew Paul as a good 'cop' and friend of the youth of Dunmore. I got more than my fair share of 'warnings' from Paul concerning my driving habits around the corners, but he always did it with a smile and a reminder of ..'I know who you are do't make me call your father' .. a good guy. My deepest sympathy to the family of another brave member of the 'Greatest Generation' ...
