Salvatore V. Balducci Jr., 72, of Jefferson Twp., passed away Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Surviving is his wife, the former Susan Kearney. The couple was married for 48 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Salvatore V. Sr. and Jane Wombocker Balducci. He was a graduate North Pocono High School and Johnson College where he received a degree in automotive repair. He was the owner of Balducci's Auto Repair, Mount Cobb, prior to becoming a self-employed warranty inspector.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and working in his workshop. He was a godly man that loved spending time in church. Over the years, he served as a children's church teacher, youth leader, board member, drummer, and he was currently serving as an elder at the church.
Also surviving are daughters, Jennifer Guy and husband, Troy, Jr., Peckville; and Amanda Bibalo and husband, Stanley, Mount Cobb; grandchildren, Deztine Balducci, Liana and Mayah Bibalo; a sister, Gina Taylor and husband, Louis, Mount Cobb; nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rescue and Restore Church, 120 Willow Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447. An additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Back Mountain Harvest, 340 Carverton Road, Trucksville, PA 18708, with a service immediately following.
Inurnment is private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Back Mountain Harvest, 340 Carverton Road, Trucksville, PA, to support the outdoor musical production "the Gift" with bleachers.
