I first found Cornerstone when I saw it on TV in 2004. I visited several times. I joined Cornerstone in 2017, but a year later I moved to another state. When I moved back to Virginia in 2020, I returned to Cornerstone, until Covid-19 hit. Because the home I had moved to was 50 miles from Cornerstone I attended an Independent Baptist Church in my area, and sometimes watched Cornerstone online. I loved the church, the people, the music, and the preaching. Stan Bennett was one of the best preachers I've ever known. I knew he was having health issues, so today, Sunday Aug. 28 2022, I looked at the church website and saw that Pastor Bennett had passed away at the beginning of this year. I will miss him very much, but I know I will see him again. My heart goes out to his family and parishioners.

Pastor Bennett was truly an anointed vessel of God. I can remember our days in Brooklyn, New York while serving together at International Baptist Church. I was a teenager at the time, and he was a deacon and drove a church bus. He served faithfully and with a radiant and contagious smile. He loved the Lord, and he loved people. Pastor Bennett and his wife were very instrumental in my spiritual development, and I am so blessed to have had them play a part in my life. Pastor Bennett will be missed. However, he has left behind a challenge for each and every one of us. That challenge consist of being faithful, steadfast, and devoted to Christ until the very end. Thank you for a life well lived. We will miss you my brother, but we will see you again.

Romans 10:15 - The New International Version (NIV)
15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

I remember when Pastor Bennett called me out in church to participate in helping out in the church. You could not deny him because of the warmth and love of God that you could see and feel in him. My late sister Stephanie Baskerville started me coming to Cornerstone. Now God has another beautiful ANGEL!
