Donald Fetterolf Obituary

January 16, 2005
Donald I. Fetterolf, 88, of S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, died at home after an illness.
He was born in Bloomsburg, son of the late Edward and Edith (Oman) Fetterolf. He moved to Wilkes-Barre where he attended Meyers High School class of 1934. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force. He worked many years in the Fetterolf Bakery business with his father. In later years, he worked as a car salesman for Duke Isaacs in Shavertown, where he received the top salesman award for five consecutive years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Evelyn D. Closkey, and son-in-law, Robert M. Closkey of The Villages, Florida, and his son, Donald E. Fetterolf, residing at home. In later years, Mr. Fetterolf enjoyed socializing with his friends at Neddoff's Diner and Mark II Restaurant. His friends and associates knew him for his favorite slogan, ``You're better off with Fetterolf.' At home he enjoyed being in the garden and taking care of his bird feeders.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the Hospice Community Care, 385 Wyoming Ave, Kingston, PA 18704. Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

Donald and Evelyn and Bob,

We are all sorry to hear of the death of your beloved father.

My mother, Florence Wilde, and Arlene Rosser are now the only cousins left of that generation. I'm so glad Mom and Karen Brown got to see Don before his passing.
