Rowena Watson Obituary

EDWARDSVILLE — Rowena D. Watson, 94, formerly of Edwardsville, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Pittston. She was the widow of Josiah Watson.

Rowena was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Edwardsville. She was a daughter of the late Gomer T. Davis and Ellen G. Williams Davis. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and Wyoming Seminary Secretarial School. Rowena was employed as a stenographer for Hazard Rope and Wire.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen G. Davis; and a daughter, Elaine Bauer.

Surviving are her grandson, Kenneth B. Bauer, and his wife, Carrie, Boston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Bethesda Congregational Church, 37 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, with Edward Gospodinsky, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forty Fort Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, Edwardsville.
