Ellery was one of the special guys in the early days of the computer room and rotating shifts. We spent a lot of time together in "the envelope" and shared a lot of stories. I saw him at the PV store a few years ago; actually, saw him walking down the sidewalk and recognized "that walk". We caught up on old times and had some good laughs together. My sympathy and thoughts are with the children and grandchildren for losing a great guy.

I am sorry to hear about Ellery's passing. I worked with him back in the 60's and the 70's when he was a shift supervisor in the Computer room and I as in the programming area. He was always fair and showed me the ropes.
My sympathy to all of his family.

Although we did not work directly with Ellery at Prudential, in our infrequent dealings with him over my 29 years there, he was one of the finest men we have ever known. He always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed.

The entire Wheeler was greatly saddened to hear of Ellery's passing. Dad spoke of Ellery often and considered him a big and happy part of his life at Pru. He was a true friend. We hope that knowing that the thoughts and prayers of Ellery's many friends are with the family will somehow make the loss easier.

We worked together, played softball together, laughed together, embellished stories together, and ate lunch together for most of my 35 year Prudential career. What can I say to his family? Ellery was a loyal friend. Ellery was a loyal family man. Ellery was a special man. He will live on as long as his pals are around to re-tell (and embellish) all those stories about baseball, softball, Pru, etc. Yes, I will really miss gabbing with him, but I'll never forget him. He was a buddy!

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Ellery. Our family the Wilsher's lived 2 houses down in woodstock Park while we were all young. Ellery's mother Gladys worked for the candy co and brought us candy. It has been many years since we have seen the family, but we remember the good times we had on Lowell Ave. May he rest in peace. I was so sadden to learn of Ellery's sudden death. He was always so pleasant and responsive to the needs of all the tenants in the First Union Bank Building in St. Augustine. The last time I saw him was a few months ago when he had his grandson with him at work. We enjoyed a few brief moments of conversation and laughter. I did not know him extremely well, but know that he will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathy and prayers are with his family.
Sincerely, Sheryl Aycock-Anderson

I was so sorry to learn of Ellery's death. I always considered him one of the "good guys" at Prudential, and one of the few computer-literate types who could also speak English that the rest of us could understand. My sincere sympathies.

I met ellery the first day he came to work at Pru and actually trained him as a supply clerk. He was a co-worker, friend and teammate over 40+years.Ellery was a big strong guy, but one who reached out to you during rough personal times.I'm really sorry he's gone. We'll all miss him.

I am so very sorry to hear of Ellery's death and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Ellery was my Associate Manager for several years at Prudential. He was always alot of fun and a very dear and compassionate man. About 18-19 years ago, he gave my 'then' husband some of his hunting dogs. We always used to talk about his horses as he knew I rode horses and
competed in rodeos. When he retired from Pru, I & everyone else who worked with him truly missed him. I also knew Carol and the pain and sorrow he felt during her illness and death. He was truly a caring and remarkable man. However, he is in a much better place with no more pain and suffering. Celebrate his life and the fact that he is now with Jesus.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ellery was my shift supervisor at the Computer Room of Prudential many, many, years ago. He was the very best person that I have ever worked for. The last time I saw him was on the grassy slope of the 17th green at the TPC several years ago. We had a nice chat and it was wonderful seeing him again. He was truly a very nice man and a wonderful man to work for. He had a great sense of humor and will always be remembered fondly.
