George was such a wonderful person - so full of life, always smiling, and enthusiastic. I loved his terrific sense of humor. I never visit St. Augustine, see a sailboat go by, or watch an FSU football game, that I don't think of George. He had such a great spirit about him, and I will certainly miss him.

To The Gibbs Family,
Although I had not had the pleasure of meeting George, I have heard about many wonderful times shared with George. His humor, his graciousness and his loving friendship that was shared with my friend, Patricia Fulop. Who will miss him dearly. For the fond memories they both shared, and in memory of George for all of the Gibbs Family, a Tree has been planted in Israel in Memory of him. May the loving memories of George grow forever, and never be forgotten by all that loved him, on Land as well as Sea.
My sincerest condolences for your great loss.
Sincerely,

Catherine,
I am Mindy's sister and have submitted an expression of sympathy already but I don't know what happened so I would again like to express my condolences to you on your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing George through Mindy and Walker and when I was in town over the years we would get together. He was a very special friend to Mindy and Walker and became a special friend to me also. He tried his best to fight this terrible disease but also had the courage and dignity to pass away with that same dignity and courage. Please know that he was a very special individual and will be missed. Please accept my sincere sypmathy.

My thoughts and prayers to The Gibbs family, George will be greatly missed....

There once was a sailor
I knew as G4
I never met a man like him before.

His passion was being on the deep blue sea,
Some way, some how, that's where he'd rather be.

From the Glen on Jubilee to snipe sails away,
To the Bahamas with family, he'd always find a way.

His friends were near and his family close,
But ole George was even happy being alone on a boat.

His love for the waters was clear to see
His proud heritage of his great family tree.

This captain's love was strong and true,
I'm grateful he found a safe harbor to sail into.

As he floats along on the great blue sea,
May he know his friendship meant a lot to me.

Sail on my friend, sail strong and proud...
I see you standing there on that bow...
You are happy and smiling, you are safe and free,
Sail on G4 to the deep blue sea....
