George Taylor Obituary

TAYLOR George L. Taylor died Sunday, February 24, 2008 after an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville on January 20, 1923 to Henry and Elizabeth Taylor, and graduated from Lee High School and the University of Florida. He served in the US Marine Corps. He was retired from St. Regis Paper Co. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julie; three children, Lance (Mary), Mary Elizabeth, and Patrick (Alison); brothers, Henry and Matthew; sister, Mabel Atkinson; four grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Kelsey and Kaitlin; and two great- grandchildren, Sheridan and Ansley. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 29, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Pastor Matthew Meadows officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations in Mr. Taylor's name made to Community Hospice of NE FL. Mrs. Taylor, Lansing, Mitzi and Patrick,
It was terrific seeing all of you last night, albeit under such circumstances. I hope not to lose contact with you all this time around. As I mentioned to Lansing, I will be contacting him for our next St Joe class get together. Again, I am very sorry for your loss. We all have such great memories. I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it to the cemetary today, but my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
