Frances Cannariato Obituary

Mrs. Frances J. Cannariato, 82, formerly of Nesquehoning, died Saturday, Sept. 19, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. She was the widow of Anthony Cannariato Sr., who died Dec. 16, 1976.
She worked for 45 years in the Prothonotary's Office at the Carbon County Courthouse, Jim Thorpe, initially holding the position of clerk and eventually becoming the prothonotary until retiring.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Gigliotti) Todaro, and was a lifelong resident of the community.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.
The deceased was a 1944 graduate of the former Nesquehoning High School and a 1946 graduate of the McCann School of Business.
She belonged to the Carbon County and Nesquehoning Republican clubs and the New Columbus Fire Company Auxiliary, Nesquehoning.
Surviving are a sister Josephine, wife of Frank Mirabelle of Exeter, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony Jr.
Service: Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning; Mass of Christian Burial noon, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Anthony M. Drounchek officiating. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call 10-11:30 a.m. Friday.
