Barbara Lowden Obituary

Barbara, born March 1, 1926, beloved wife of John D.H. Lowden II, passed away January 1st, 2006, after a brief illness. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School, attended the University of Toledo and for many years was an active member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is survived by her brother, Bruce, Grand Rapids, MI and sister, Maryse Long, Farmington Hills, MI.
After the war, she married her sweetheart, John and had various employment positions throughout her life. Her greatest enjoyment was her 20+ years of secretarial work and service at her alma mater, DeVilbiss High School and the Toledo Board of Education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D.H. Lowden II and her son, John D.H. Lowden III. She is survived by her children, Cindy, Seattle, WA, Jim, Biloxi, MS, Tom, Sylvania, OH; former daughter-in-law, Pat Lowden; grandchildren, Greg, Eric, Kesley, John, Cheynea, Kristi and great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Caleb.
Her children would like to extend our sincere thanks to the ICU Staff of Flower Hospital for the treatment and care of our mother. We would also encourage donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 p.m. with evening prayers at 7 p.m. at the J. Jeffrey Fretti Funeral Home, 5045 W. Sylvania Avenue (at Corey Rd.) 419-843-1117. Private burial will be held Wednesday in Toledo Memorial Park with Father Michael O. Brown of Christ the King Church officiating.

I shall always remember Barb fondly. She was my "Little Sister" in Tri Delta and we enjoyed many fun college years together. I send my most sincere condolences to her family.
