Jane Dudley Obituary

DUDLEY Jane M. Jane M. Dudley, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died at age 76, October 8, 2008, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Jane was born on February 5, 1932, to Zeno and Ruth (Moll) Walters where she grew up on her family's Lindsey farm. She graduated from Fremont Ross and worked as a bookkeeper before devoting her life to her family and friends. She married Richard Dudley on August 16, 1952 and they had a beautiful 46 year union together. They had three daughters, Jan (Michael) Wilcox of Toledo, Kim (Richard) Woodruff of Norwalk and Randi (John) Zubin of Cleveland; grandchildren, Ben and Sarah Wilcox, Trevor, Brian and Abby Woodruff, Patrick and Shawn Zubin. Jane was an active lady whether she was playing cards, golfing or entertaining. She was the original "cookie lady" and loved to bake especially for the holidays. Jane also enjoyed needle work and made many quilts, needle point pillows and knitted items that she often presented to friends for special occasions. She was a long time parishioner at St. Ann's Catholic Church, a member of the Fremont Country Club and Catawba Island Club. She volunteered in countless community organizations from delivering mobile meals to baking Christmas pudding for the Hayes Library Dicken's Dinner. Jane loved to travel and enjoyed many happy memories with her family and later with her many girl friends. Arrangements are being handled by the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home, Fremont. Services will be private with burial to be in St. Ann's Cemetery in Fremont alongside her best friend and husband, Dick. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Terra College Foundation's Richard and Jane Dudley Memorial Scholarship Fund, Terra College Foundation, 2830 Napoleon Rd., Fremont, OH 43420. The family wants to thank all her wonderful care givers and special friends who helped Jane over the last several years. With her last breath, those we love do not say good-bye, for love is timeless.

Jan & Mike,
Words alone can not express my sincere condolences to you and your family. Your mother sounds like a wonderful and beautiful person and we should all be so lucky to have had someone like that touch our lives so gracefully. Take comfort in her peace, happiness and love she has for you and your family. She is truly "home" now. My strength and support go out to you.
With caring thoughts,
Crissy Scharf

If a person can tell about a mother[Mrs Dudley], by knowing her daughter[Jan], she must have been a special lady.
