Michael "Mike" Lee Creque
Michael "Mike" Lee Creque, age 77, from Ottawa Lake, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Northwest Ohio Hospice in Sylvania. Born on December 24, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, Mike was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, "Poppy," uncle, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Karen; his parents, Edward "Dick" and Betty Creque; siblings, Darlene Stansley and Douglas Creque; in-laws, Joe Brewer, Larry Esper, Cy Abdo, Dick Stansley, and Darlene Creque; and his granddaughter, Annabella "Bella" Creque.
Mike is survived by his children, Amy (Jeff) Stone and Brian (Deborah) Creque; siblings, Tom Creque, Carol (Howard Baldwin) Abdo, Kim (Gary) King, Richard Creque, and Michelle (Chris) Donnelly; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Esper, Ann Brewer, Sharon (George) Horkey, and Jeanne (John) DeCocker. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley Williams, Leah (Luke) Milligan, Audrey Okoney, Allen (Sarah) Okoney, Tegan (Nate) Jaworski, Landin (Grace) Stone, Julia (Alec Dusseau) Creque, and Alex (Kenna Bates) Creque. Mike also leaves behind great-grandchildren Pierce, Willow, Dawson, Kyslee, Zander, Declan, Jettley, Maverick, Dempsey, Walker, Calloway, and Faya - with another precious gift on the way.
A passionate and devoted supporter of his family, Mike took great pride in attending the many events and milestones of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, from sporting events to 4-H and animal shows and beyond. He enjoyed the sibling lunches and respecting all of the family's many rivalries. He was a proud fan of both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, often benefiting from both a blue and gold and green and white wardrobe by those wanting to sway those loyalties. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast who never missed a chance to talk about his favorite teams, especially the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He enjoyed keeping tabs on agricultural activities in the area and talking about farming.
In his later years, Mike found joy in working on puzzles, often with help from visiting family members. He made his home at Hampton Manor in Dundee, Michigan, after spending the rest of his life in Ottawa Lake and Riga.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St., Sylvania, OH 43560. Guests are invited to join the family for dinner following the service. A private burial, at a later date, will be at the St. Anthony Cemetery, Temperance, Michigan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hampton Manor of Dundee, ProMedica Flower Hospital, and Northwest Ohio Hospice for their kindness and care. Memorials can be made to Gabby's Ladder Grief Center, 2262 N. Monroe St., Monroe, Michigan.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, loyalty, wit and humor, will live on through the generations he so dearly cherished. Online condolences to
