Joan Carter Obituary
Born in Abington, Pa., she was a Hamilton resident for most of her life. She was a member of St. Raphael – Holy Angels Parish and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. Joan also enjoyed watching her special TV programs, "I Love Lucy," "Judge Judy," and her Saturday evening English shows. She also cherished many years of companionship with "Oscar" her recently departed dog.
Joan was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Viola (DeRoach) Poveromo and the wife of the late Stanley D. Carter. She is survived by her son, Peter J. Carter of Hamilton and her brother, Michael D. Poveromo of Georgia. She's also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael's Parish, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. A gathering of friends and family will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joan to Compassionate Care Hospice, 601 Hamilton Ave., 6th Floor, Trenton, NJ 08629. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home, Hamilton. www.KingstonandKemp.com.
