Edward Koshara Obituary

Edward A. Koshara, 79, of Everson, formerly of Lorraine, Ohio, for 40 years, died Saturday evening, Feb. 19, 2005, in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Ed was born in Everson, Oct. 29, 1925, a son of the late Anthony and Anna Zwierzelewski Koshara. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. He resided in Lorraine, Ohio from 1950 to 1990 when he retired and returned to Everson. He was a retired electrician for U.S. Steel, Lorraine Ohio Works, with 30 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the armed forces, serving with the U.S. Army, Co. A 648th Tank Destroyer BN in the European Theater, attaining the rank of Pfc. He was the recipient of two Campaign Medals and the Good Conduct Medal. Ed was a member of the Everson VFW Post 595 and the Everson Polish American Club. He was an avid golfer with Lorraine, Ohio leagues and an avid horse racing fan. Ed's memories will be cherished by his loving family, his sister, Florence White, of Connellsville; four nieces; two nephews; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Koshara, in 1977, Frank Koshara, on July 30, 1979, and Joseph A. (ChoCho) Koshara, on Dec. 1, 1991; four sisters, Genevieve A. Oblywanik, on April 12, 1989, Theresa Koshara, in 1942, Cecelia Watkins, and Evelyn Forgach in Dec. 2001; and his brother-in-law, George White, on May 8, 2004. Ed's family will greet friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m., the time of a blessing service in the funeral home. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson, with full military honors accorded at the gravesite. A memorial Mass for Ed will be celebrated in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson, at a date and time to be announced.
