Edward Stepanic Obituary

Edward J. Stepanic, 87, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Scottdale, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in the Darby Square Nursing Home, Lexington. He was born March 12, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late John and Mary Ann Derring Stepanic. Edward was a life member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. He was a retired sales manager and buyer for the former Royers of Greensburg with 30 years of service, and a former salesman with Burton's Ltd. Clothing of Crossroad Plaza. Edward was a life member of the Scottdale Elks B.P.O.E. 777. Edward leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted daughters, Judith FiField and her husband, Richard H., of Lexington, Ky., and Kathleen Pilarski of North Irwin; four grandchildren, Brian FiField, Patrick FiField and his wife, Erin, Erica Pilarski and Donald Pilarski Jr.; a great-grandson, Carter FiField; three sisters, Marie Cheski of Ann Arbor, Mich., Ida Goodman of Greensburg and Margaret Jean Pristou of Ohio. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie C. Prutz Stepanic on Jan. 15, 2001; a brother, Adam Stepanic; four sisters, Stella Guidas, Matilda Guidas, Naomi Dennison and Frances Honse. Edward's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by his funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. Committal service and interment will follow in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church cemetery, Everson. A parish wake service will be held Wednesday in the funeral home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home by the Scottdale Elks B.P.O.E. 777. www.kapr.com.
