Jean WEGENAST Obituary



WEGENAST, Jean Elizabeth ;Zibby
Passed away peacefully in St. John's, Newfoundland at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Monday, December 03, 2001 at the age of 73 years. Born in Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Professor Bert and Jean Corlett. Predeceased by her parents and brothers John, Albert and Sandy, she leaves to mourn her husband of 48 years William Wegenast; her sisters Mary Ruth of Winchester, England; Mabel of Kingston, Ontario and sister-in-law Verna of Toronto. Also surviving are her son David (Charmaigne) of Ottawa and daughters Cathy Reid (Gerry), St, John's, NF, Jane Londero (Jean Pierre) Whitehorse, Yukon and Susan Wegenast, Toronto. As well, she is survived by seven grandchildren. Elizabeth was an active supporter and organizer for the Class of Arts 49-50 Queen's University and has a long time interest in and participation in synchronized swimming, the YM-YWCA and the church choirs. There will be visitation Thursday, December 06, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p,m. at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. A funeral service will be held from St. Mark's Anglican Church on Friday, December 07, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated.
